Today: Hot With a Chance for Sneezing; Patch Introduces PatchCooks
Today promises to be hot. Patch introduces new PatchCooks feature that draws on recipes submitted by readers throughout the country.

Hello Crystal Lake and Cary,
We're one day closer to the weekend, and it's going to be a hot one.  Today's weather forecast calls for a high of 86 degrees with a chance of a couple of thunderstorms. Add in the humidity, and the "real feel" temps will be 91 degrees.
For those suffering with fall allergies, keep that Kleenex box close:Â weed pollen levels are expected to be "high" today, while levels for grass, tree and mold are projected to be low.Â
In Patch news, we are introducing a new national story feature, "PatchCooks," which gathers favorite recipes from readers coast to coast each week on a particular theme.Â
Be sure to check out this week's article, "PatchCooks: Readers Share Go-To Weekend Breakfast Recipes." Busy moms will be interested in the Cupcake Omlets recipe shared by reader Laura Crosbie, of Hazlet, N.J.
In news around town, Patch has posted an article highlighting the four homes selected for this year's Housewalk hosted by Service League of Crystal Lake. The annual event allows attendees a glimpse inside some of the area's most beautiful homes.
By attending the home tour, you'll be helping area students and needy families. All money raised through the event is used by the Service League of Crystal Lake for scholarships and to provide aid to needy families. Full story here. Â
