Woman Killed at Lily Pond Road Metra Crossing

The McHenry County Coroner is reporting that a 19-year-old Woodstock resident was killed Wednesday when the car she was in was struck by a Metra train.

Amanda L. Williams, of Woodstock, formerly of Belvidere, was southbound on Lily Pond Road when her car went onto the tracks at the Lily Pond Road crossing and was struck by an inbound Metra train, McHenry County Coroner reported in a written release.

Williams was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:54 p.m. The accident is under investigation and an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
