Woodstock Man Charged with Heroin Possession

Daniel M. Stolzke, 56, of Woodstock, and Matthew Bell, 22, of Richmond, were arrested Tuesday following a traffic stop near Woodstock.





A Woodstock man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on drug-related charges following a traffic stop in unincorporated Woodstock.

Daniel M. Stolzke, 56, of the 800 block of Roosevelt Rd., Woodstock, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. 


Stolzke was a passenger in a car stopped by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Intelligence Unit at about 1 p.m. Sept. 10, near the intersection of Route 120 and Greenwood Road.

During the traffic stop, deputies found about 1.6 grams of heroin in the car. The street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $200, according to the Sheriff's Office. 

The driver of the car, Matthew D. Bell, 22, of the 10000 block of Maiden Lane, Richmond, was arrested and charged with obstructing justice and no valid driver’s license, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

Bond for Bell was set at $1,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 1. Bond for Stolzke was set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 13, the release states.
