Woodstock Man Facing Charges After Police Seize $27,000 In Drugs

WOODSTOCK, IL — The McHenry County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Task Force arrested Raymundo Gomez, 23, of Woodstock, on an arrest warrant on several drug charges Wednesday, May 22 as the result of a four-month investigation, according to a release from the sheriff's office. Members of the Narcotics Task Force, the U.S. Marshal's Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Rockford Office arrested Gomez at his home in the 1000 block of Greenwood Circle in Woodstock, according to a release.
The sheriff's office reported that during Gomez's arrest, illegal drugs were spotted, leading to a search warrant of his home. As a result, additional charges were filed against Gomez, the sheriff's office said. These charges include three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. During the investigation, detectives seized 150 grams of cocaine, one gram of MDMA, 341 grams of cannabis (including THC cannabis wax and THC cannabis oil cartridges), 29 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms, 51 Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine pills, 30 Alprazolam pills, 6 Morphine pills, packaging material, drug paraphernalia and $2,511.00 (United States currency).

Gomez's bond has been set at $250,000 and his court date is scheduled for June 7.
