2 Charged With Retail Theft At Darien Store

They were leaving the parking lot when officers arrived.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their weekly blotter Thursday, with two incidents, both taking place at Walmart. Here is information from the reports:

Retail theft

  • A 29-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both from Chicago, were arrested about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on retail theft and burglary charges. Officers were called to Jewel, 7335 Cass Ave., and saw the suspects trying to leave the parking lot. The officers stopped them. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • A witness told police that he saw a driver try to pull into a parking space across from an unoccupied car about 4 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St. While backing up, the driver hit the other car and then drove away.
