Darien Arrests 4 Downers Grove Residents

In different incidents, their charges included domestic battery, retail theft and DUI.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 31-year-old Downers Grove man who lives in the 1700 block of Monmouth Place was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 7100 block of Crest Road on a domestic battery charge. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Retail theft

  • A 56-year-old Downers Grove woman who lives in the 5300 block of Park Avenue and a 54-year-old Downers Grove woman who lives in the 5300 block of Benton Avenue were arrested about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on retail theft charges. Darien police said the women failed to scan all items in the self-checkout aisle. They were released and given a date to appear in court.

DUI

  • A 49-year-old Downers Grove man who lives in the 7400 block of Grand Avenue was arrested about 10 p.m. Saturday on charges of DUI, speeding and improper lane usage. Darien police said the man was speeding 60 mph in a 45 mph zone on 75th Street near Farmingdale Avenue. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
