Joan Rehak

Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?:

Yes

What does the nominee do for work?:

Joan has a son living at home plus an 87-year-old husband who she takes care of. She also is always available when people call or text her. She has had hip replacements and is in her 80s but is the salt of the earth. We all love her.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?

Taking care of her son who lives with them and her elderly husband plus cooking, baking and getting her persons to any appointments. This virus has been rough for many, and she just goes with the flow. She is in her early 80s and is a lovely, caring, wonderful mother, wife and friend. Her family have lived here for over 40 years in Carriage Green, and they were one of the first settlers in the development. She is never angry, and always thinks of the other person. Cooking, sending cards, and until just recently, she and her husband and son traveled the world. Many trips we have taken with them and they are just the finest people. She is a true saint.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:

Her kindness to all and her ability to handle all that is on her plate.
