Everybody Has a Story: A Night of Storytelling is a live storytelling event presented by the Darien Arts Council that celebrates the power of personal narratives. Taking place on January 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM, the evening will feature real people sharing real stories from their own lives—ranging from funny and surprising to heartfelt and deeply moving. This community-centered event invites audiences to listen, connect, and reflect through the art of spoken storytelling.
Held at Lord of Life Church in Darien, Illinois, the event also welcomes those who want to take the stage and share their own story. Storytellers are invited to present 4–7 minute stories and will receive free admission. General admission is $10 per ticket. Whether you come to listen or to tell your own tale, Everybody Has a Story promises an engaging and memorable night that highlights the voices and experiences within the community.

AUDITIONS FOR THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL - Youth Edition

Join us for a special program researched and created by Kim White, a local master naturalist, who has had a lifelong interest in the natural world. Kim will discuss some of the women who have contributed to our understanding of natural history from 1458 B.C.E. to this century.Many women, proficient in a scientific or natural history discipline, were informally educated or self-taught, and rarely given the credit they deserved during their lifetimes, and many women have never been fully recognized for their accomplishments.Our January 2026 General Meeting will follow the presentation.

6:30 p.m. Social Time - Enjoy visiting with our friendly members.
7:00 p.m. Program - Kim White presents "Women of Natural History," women historians and scientists from Queen Hatshepsut to Dame Jane Goodall.

No experience needed—just bring your working sewing machine, foot pedal, navy blue all-purpose thread, and a passion to learn. Celebrate with us as we kick off a brand new year of DGC Sprouts! We will have special entertainment, raffle prizes, and more!<a href="https://dariengardenclub.com/sprouts" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> </a>
<a href="https://dariengardenclub.com/sprouts" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Darien Garden Club’s Sprouts</a> program delivers our club’s mission to children and families interested in learning about gardening and horticulture. We emphasize hands-on, child-friendly lessons and activities for home and community gardening. Our purpose is to inspire and engage a new generation of gardeners.
Annual membership is $10 per family (or $12 via PayPal). Monthly meetings are generally held in the evenings on the 4th Wednesday of the month at St John's Lutheran Church. We also plan field trips, events, and other activities throughout the year. The children and families actively participate in growing vegetables, flowers, and herbs in the Learning Garden. We all share the harvest at the end of the year, and any surplus is donated to the local food pantry. We also run several recycling initiative programs to help care for the Earth as environmental stewards.
