Darien Car Thefts Reported; Gun Stolen: Cops
The cars were apparently locked, so the windows were broken.

DARIEN, IL – At least nine cars were targeted last week at a Darien hotel, with a pistol, money and other valuables stolen, authorities said.
The incidents occurred overnight Sept. 3 at the Extended Stay America hotel, 2345 Sokol Court, police said.
In most such situations, suspects look for unlocked cars, where they can find keys and other items. In this case, though, cars were apparently locked, so the suspect broke windows to get in, police said.

Two cars were stolen, with one later found in suburban Lansing, police said.
One victim received a phone alert about a purchase he did not make. Going outside, he discovered a broken car window and his wallet had been stolen, police said.

In another case, a pistol was taken, police said. An air compressor was reported stolen from another car.
