Darien Eatery Expansion A Good Sign: Official
Years ago, Darien worked with Woodridge on the restaurant chain's headquarters, the official said.
DARIEN, IL – The expansion of Home Run Inn Pizzeria in Darien is a good sign for the community, an official said this week.
On Monday, the City Council approved the zoning for the expansion. It is in the Chestnut Court shopping center on the southeast corner of 75th Street and Lemont Road.
"It's always very nice to see our businesses reinvest in their buildings," Vana told the council. "It's a good indication that they're having success and that businesses in Darien are successful."

Years ago, Vana said, Darien worked with Woodridge to get economic incentives for Home Run Inn's corporate headquarters to stay in Woodridge.
The headquarters is at 1300 Internationale Parkway in Woodridge. Home Run Inn has nine locations in Chicago and the suburbs.

In its request, the Darien restaurant said customer patterns had changed during the pandemic. So it wanted to increase the carryout area.
The local restaurant has been in operation since 1987.
