Darien Fast Food Restaurant Closes

DARIEN, IL – Darien's Wendy's restaurant closed Monday, with its sign down and all of its dining room furniture gone.

It was open through the weekend.

Signs on its doors and windows advise customers to go to nearby Wendy's locations in Westmont and Downers Grove.

The restaurant is at the southwest corner of Route 83 and Plainfield Road. It is close to Hinsdale South High School.

Patch contacted the chain's public relations department Monday about why the restaurant closed. In response, the chain gave no specific reason.

"As a 55-year-old brand with more than 7,100 restaurants across the globe, closures are a normal activity to maintain a healthy System," the company said. "By the end of 2024, we will have opened more than 500 new restaurants over the last two years and have confidence we will deliver elevated growth in 2025 and the years to come."

Wendy's has more than 160 locations in the Chicago area, the chain said.
