Darien Restaurant Burglaries Detailed
Security video showed a man throwing a brick through a window, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police provided more information Thursday on last week's burglaries of two restaurants.
About 3:30 a.m. Jan. 2, an officer was flagged down by a delivery driver who noticed a shattered front picture window at Rosati's Pizza, 8137 S. Cass Ave., police said. The glass on the front entry doors was also damaged.
No business alarm had been activated. Security video showed that two hours earlier, a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and black pants threw a brick to break the windows, police said. He stole $100, and the damage was estimated at $2,640.

Around the same time, another business, Al Chile Mexican Grill at 8123 S. Cass Ave. was burglarized, police said. Its glass front door was damaged, and two cash drawers containing $600 were stolen. The damage was estimated at $2,680.

Retail theft
- Officers were called to a retail theft in progress about 6 p.m. Saturday at Walgreens, 8300 Lemont Road. An employee recognized the suspect from another retail theft. Morris Williams Jr., 69, of Chicago, was arrested on felony charges of retail theft and burglary. Police said he left the store with a cart containing more than $300 worth of items. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Car burglary
- An unlocked car was burglarized overnight Monday in an apartment complex's parking lot in the 700 block of Walnut Drive. A wallet and $2 in change were stolen from the car.
