Elderly Woman Battered At Downers Grove Store: Cops

DOWNERS GROVE, IL – Downers Grove police are trying to find a man who pushed down an elderly woman over the summer at a local store, authorities said Wednesday.

The incident took place July 19 at Best Buy, 1432 Butterfield Road. The elderly woman was reported to be seriously injured.

The man tried to pass counterfeit money at the store, but ran away when he found out police were called, pushing the victim in the process, according to a Downers Grove news release.

The man was described as black, about 6 feet, thin and having long dreadlocks. He appeared to have tattoos on both hands, police said.

The incident was listed as aggravated battery.
