Fall Sports Tryouts Begin at South High Schools

Here’s some of what’s going on in and around Darien for Wednesday, Aug. 14.

·      Fall sports tryouts are beginning at Downers Grove South and Hinsdale South high schools. Good luck to all the kids trying out!

·      It’s the last meeting of the year for the teenagers’ Trading Card Club at the Indian Prairie Library from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; after that, presumably, the trading will move to the schoolyard. Grades 7-12 are welcome; no registration is required.

·      A reminder about the Historic Photo Walking Tour through downtown Downers Grove throughout the month of August: “Residents and visitors are invited to walk through the streets of downtown Downers Grove and view dozens of historic photos, all of which will be displayed in the windows of local businesses.” A brochure can be downloaded here.
