DUI, Speeding
At about 6:06 a.m., Ruben Ruiz, 26, of 2137 Prentiss Drive in Downers Grove, was arrested and charged with DUI and speeding. According to Darien Police reports, officers observed Ruiz traveling at a high rate of speed and stopped him. Officers said they could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Ruiz's mouth while talking to him. Police say Ruiz failed field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested and processed at the Darien Police Department. Ruiz has a court date of September 5th in Wheaton.

Speeding, No Drivers License
According to Darien Police, Jonatan Rojo-Garcia, 27, of 7245 Woodward Ave in Woodridge, was arrested and charged with speeding and not having a drivers license. According to the report, an officer observed Rojo-Garcia traveling at a high rate of speed. While talking to Rojo-Garcia, officers learned that Rojo-Garcia never had a drivers license. At about 4:19 p.m., Rojo-Garcia was arrested and processed at the Darien Police Department. He has a court date pending in Downers Grove.

Speeding, Driving while license suspended
Mario Whitaker, 29, of 6705 Aspen Lane in Westmont, was arrested and charged with speeding and driving while license suspended. According to the report, an officer observed Whitaker traveling at a high rate of speed, and stopped him. Officers say Whitaker's drivers license was suspended. Whitaker was arrested, booked, and processed at the Darien Police Department. He has a court date of Sept. 13 in Downers Grove.
