Reckless Driver In Darien Charged With DUI: Cops

In other cases, officers arrested three people on DUI charges.

ELMHURST, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

DUI

  • A 48-year-old Woodridge man was arrested about 10 a.m. Monday on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving an uninsured car. Police said they were called to Route 83 and Plainfield Road about a reckless driver. An officer saw the man swerving and crossing lines a few times, police said. The man was given a court date and released.

Retail theft

  • A 24-year-old Darien woman who lives in the 7300 block of Tennessee Drive was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Saturday on a retail theft charge. Police said she was under-scanning items at the self-checkout lane at Walmart, 2189 75th St. She was given a court date and released.
  • An 18-year-old unincorporated Darien man who lives on Ernest Drive and an 18-year-old Lemont man were arrested about 5:30 p.m. Monday on retail theft charges. Police said Walmart, 2189 75th St., alerted them that two men scanned bar codes for different items from what they had. When employees confronted the men, they ran toward Dunkin' Donuts. Officers apprehended them. They were given a court date and released.
