Restaurant Update For Darien Shopping Center
The same developer says a national fitness chain is coming to the center.

DARIEN, IL – The plan was for a restaurant to be built on what is now a shopping center parking lot in Darien.
The developer said in early 2024 that it should be ready by November.
But the parking lot remains untouched.

In March 2024, the City Council approved the zoning for a 1,000-square-foot restaurant at the corner of 75th Street and Cass Avenue.
It would be between Taco Bell and Concentra Urgent Care, in the outlying parking for the shopping center that includes the local Jewel grocery store.

The developer, Vick Mehta, owner of Downers Grove-based Indvestia Capital, has not returned messages for comment on his firm's Facebook page.
In response to a Patch inquiry Wednesday, the city said it has received no plans or other information on the restaurant.
According to the 2024 plan, the restaurant was to feature a drive-thru and outdoor seating. Customers would be unable to go inside the building, Mehta said at the time.
Last week, Mehta revealed that Planet Fitness, a national chain, was planned for the same shopping center at 75th and Cass. It would be in the space formerly occupied by American Freight and Sears.
On Tuesday, the City Council's municipal services committee approved the zoning for the fitness center.
Officials indicated Mehta was also planning to attract a restaurant or some other business for the building in question.
