Unlocked Cars Broken Into In Darien: Cops
In another case, a man and woman were arrested in a domestic disturbance.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving car break-ins, domestic battery, retail theft and DUI. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:
Car break-ins
- A woman in the 9000 block of Darien Woods Court told police that her purse and a bag of makeup were stolen Oct. 9 from her unlocked car. Later in the day, she received notifications about suspicious credit card activity.
- Someone noticed a car's driver's side window was broken and the door was left open about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Lakeview Drive. Police were called, and the owner was informed. The front passenger window was shattered, the hood was left slightly open, and items were moved around in the glovebox. The loss was estimated at $300.
Domestic battery

- A 30-year-old Chicago woman and a 33-year-old Downers Grove man were arrested about 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8 in the 7400 block of Brookdale Drive on domestic battery charges. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Retail theft
- A person stole three 24-packs of Modelo beer shortly after midnight Oct. 9 at Speedway gas station, 10250 Lemont Road. This happened while the employee was helping a customer. The beer was worth $114.
DUI

- A 22-year-old Woodridge man was arrested shortly before midnight Oct. 9 on Lemont Road on charges of DUI and speeding at least 35 mph over the limit. He was released and given a court date.
- A 31-year-old Schaumburg woman was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday on a DUI charge. Police said an officer saw the woman strike the center median at Cass Avenue and 75th Street. She then hit the right curb four times between Williams Street and Lyman Avenue. She was released and given a court date.
