Gun Found At Hinsdale South: Statement
It was discovered during a student's routine visit to the dean's office, the school said.

DARIEN, IL – A small-frame pistol was discovered Thursday during a student's routine visit to the dean's office at Hinsdale South High School, authorities said.
The visit was about 11:15 a.m., with Darien police immediately contacted, the school said.
Out of an abundance of caution, the school was put on a "hold in place," meaning students stayed in class without changing rooms, the school said. The hold has since been lifted.

Darien police sent the public a text message, acknowledging the incident and saying there was no danger to students or the public.
Hinsdale South said it would continue with its day as normal.
