Week Ahead: Two Darien Businesses' Ribbon-Cuttings

Here’s some of what’s going on in and around Darien for the weekend of Aug. 5-9.

·      Monday, Aug. 5: The Darien City Council meets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday night at City Hall, 1702 Plainfield Road. A complete agenda for the meeting can be found here.

·      Tuesday, Aug. 6: Don’t forget: “State Wars 9,” the United States Roller Hockey Championship, is still going on at the Darien Sportsplex (451 Plainfield Road, Darien) The event runs from July 31 through Aug. 11 with games all day, every single day, all at the Sportsplex and all free to attend. Find the complete games schedule here!

·      Wednesday, Aug. 7: “Please join the Darien Chamber of Commerce and the Darien Community in welcoming Cass Avenue Motors to the Chamber and the area. Cass Avenue Motors will be holding an open house and having a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 7th at 5 p.m.!” The event is at 8404 Wilmette Avenue, Unit E.

·      Thursday, Aug. 8: “You are invited to attend the Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Chuck's Southern Comforts Cafe on August 8, 2013 at 5 p.m., located at 8025 South Cass Avenue Darien. Please join us in welcoming Chuck's Restaurant to Darien.”

·      Friday, Aug. 9: It’s the Westmont Community Garage Sale! All throughout Westmont, Darien’s northern neighbor, homes will be having their garage sales on the same day to encourage shopping sprees. A list of participating homes will appear on the Westmont website a few days before the event.
