Willowbrook's Ex-Holiday Inn Sells for Over $3 Million

The 220-room hotel in Willowbrook just outside of Darien, formerly the Holiday Inn Willowbrook-Hinsdale (and currently operating simply as the Willowbrook Inn,) will not go up for auction after all as a buyer has snatched up the property for a price in excess of $3 million, the Doings Weekly reports.

Previously, according to a separate Doings article, CBRE Auction Services planned to sell the building at auction after it ceased to be a Holiday Inn in mid-June.

However, the paper now reports, a yet-unidentified buyer purchased the building prior to the scheduled auction on July 25 for an undisclosed amount that exceeds what would have been a starting bid of $3 million.

CRBE Auction Services manager director Doug Johnson told the paper the building is likely to undergo renovation and remain a hotel.
