School Bus Crash: 1 Student, 1 Worker Taken To Hospital

DECATUR, IL — A school bus crash Tuesday morning resulted in one student and one staff member being taken to the hospital, police said.

The crash occurred around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Jasper and Whitmer streets. Police said the bus and a Cadillac SUV collided, but more information on the crash was unavailable pending an investigation.

A spokeswoman for Decatur Public Schools said five students were on the bus at the time of the crash. One student and one staff member were taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Whitmer Street was still closed as of late Tuesday morning, and traffic was congested along Jasper Street.
