After careful consideration, we have determined to not resume transit services today, February 3, 2022.  We had hoped the roadway conditions were going to improve and we could resume service with a delayed start, but that cannot be done safely at this time.  Snow has continued and there is much more snow removal that needs to be done before it is safe to provide our public transit services to the community.

An update as to tomorrow’s service will be provided later tonight based on conditions at that point. If you have any questions, call Transit Dispatch at (217) 424-2800 for the most accurate schedule and routes.

Decatur Transit will resume transit services 12:00 pm (noon) today February 3, 2022.  The City suspended transit services yesterday for 24 hours due to worsening road conditions.

City staff and first responders have been, and will continue to work around the clock to get our roads reopened and life back to normal.  The City offices at the Civic Center will remain closed until Friday, but staff is available electronically or over the phone to continue to provide service for our residents and businesses.

Due to the deteriorating roadway conditions as snow continues to fall, Decatur Transit has suspended service as of 10:00 am this morning on February 2, 2022.  We will make a determination to Thursday’s public transit service later today.

Additionally, the City is also closing the City offices in the Civic Center today as of 10:00 am through tomorrow February 3, 2022.  We anticipate reopening the Civic Center City office on Friday morning.
