Vehicle Fire Being Investigated As 'Suspicious': Fire Marshall
A spokesman from the Decatur Fire Department said the size and money lost in the fire led the agency to label it as suspicious.
DECATUR, IL — An early morning vehicle fire is being investigated as "suspicious" after it spread to a nearby parking garage, according to the Decatur Police Department.
Fire officials were called to the scene on the 500 block of West Macon Street at 2:19 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release. When officials arrived, a detached parking garage was completely engulfed in flames.
A nearby apartment building had minor heat damage but was not involved in the fire. The Office of the State Fire Marshall said the investigation is listed as suspicious due to the size of the fire and the amount of money lost.
