109 To Honor Outgoing Board Members

Ellen London, Debbie Muller and Mike Rosenbaum will get public's accolades for their service.

Outgoing Deerfield Public Schools District 109 Board of Education members will be honored for their service to the community at an open house at 6 p.m. Monday in the Shepard Middle School Library.

All three chose not to seek reelection. Their terms expire before the next Board meeting in May. Board member .

Board members Steve Schwartz, Bennett Brenner and Nick Begley are in the middle of their terms.

First elected in 2001, London has been the Board president since 2005. Her years of service included a primary focus on special education, serving as the Board liaison to the North Shore Special Education District.

Muller was elected in 2009 and was the Board representative who was primarily responsible for the development of the strategic plan in 2010-2011. She served as a representative on the strategic planning team.

Rosenbaum, also elected in 2001, will be finishing his third term. He has been the vice president since 2005. His work on the finance committee has helped improve the financial standing of the District.
