Bannockburn Police Arrest Highland Park Man for DUI

Paul Harwood, 53, of Highland Park was arrested today for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage, according to Bannockburn Police reports. 

Police observed Harwood driving east on Half Day Road near the intersection of Waukegan Road when he weaved between lanes at least five times, according to the report. After stopping him, police noticed an odor of alcoholic beverage on Harwood’s breath. 

After asking Harwood to exit the vehicle, he failed field sobriety tests because “his balance was extremely poor” and “he had trouble understanding the directions.” He refused a breath test. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. July 10 in Waukegan.
