Deerfield Road to Close Overnight Monday

Deerfield Road will be closed at the pedestrian bridge by the Metra station from 9 p.m. Monday until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday for painting, according to Deerfield Chief Project Engineer John Guccione.

The underpass will be painted during that time. Alternative routes across the railroad tracks are Osterman Avenue a block to the south and Hazel Avenue a few blocks to the north.

“The (pedestrian) bridge because it will impact pedestrians minimally (only the stairs will be closed),” Guccione said. “The handicap ramps are still usable.”

The road was also closed Thursday when the Metra underpass was painted.
