Former Warrior Loukas Returns to Olympics
Former Deerfield High School state champion earns berth in 3-meter springboard diving at London games next month.
Former diving star Christina Loukas earned a spot on the United States Olympic Team with a second place finish in 3-meter springboard diving Sunday at the Olympic Trials in Federal, WA, according to report in the Houston Chronicle.
The Riverwoods native and 2004 state titleholder now lives and trains in Houston. Her parents remain in Deerfield, . Not only did she win with the Warriors, but she was part of the when she was not competing for the high school.
"Oh my gosh that was the longest week of my life," Loukas said in the Chronicle. "This time around I kind of know what to expect and I have more confidence in my diving. I know I can compete with the top women on 3-meter.”

Loukas was part of the American team four years ago at Beijing where she finished ninth. Her score at the trials Sunday was 1,017.85.
