She served on the Board of Directors for Hewitt Associates, as well as the National and Chicago Area Board of Directors of Junior Achievement USA, an organization reaching 4 million children in grades K-12, providing focus on financial literacy, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois, and was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.  Julie has lived with her husband Richard in Highland Park for 28 years. Stacey Meyer, a Deerfield resident has an Economics degree from Northwestern and an MBA from the University of Michigan.  She has work experience in business and education.  As the Director of Marketing Research for Quaker Oats, Stacey managed a multi-million dollar budget and performed analyses for efficient and effective decision making.  Currently she is the Program Director for the Schuler Scholar Program, where Stacey oversees academic and cultural programs in eight Chicagoland high schools.  She has experience working with a diverse team and listening to her community, (consumers and scholars respectively).  Stacey’s prior volunteer experience reflects her passion for education: tutor and Board of Directors for the Cabrini Green Tutoring Program; co-chair of the Wilmot Book fair (4 years) and member of the District 109 Differentiation Committee.  Stacey lives in Deerfield (19 years) with her husband and son, a freshman at DHS.  Prior to moving to Deerfield, Stacey and her family resided in Highland Park (5 years).

Looking toward the future of the District, we have three candidates that represent Fiscal Responsibility, Technology Prowess and Instructional Differentiation. The challenges facing Education today are in the forefront at District 113. Pension reform, technology integration and implementation and curriculum changes to meet the needs of diverse populations are several issues educators are diligently working to achieve Academic Excellence!
