Deerfield High School girls' basketball team shows balance in loss to Scouts.

Warriors Star Performers: Liz Pavalon scored five points and snagged seven rebounds while Margot Sylvan added seven tallies, four steals, a pair of assists and a rebound.

Other Notable Warrior Performances: Haley Greer chipped in six points, stole the ball three times, hauled down two rebounds and dished out an assist. Emilia Karkazis put in six points and had five rebounds while Kathryn Hoffman contributed five points, three steals and two rebounds. Sarah Ginn had seven rebounds and two points.
Who’s Next: The Warriors head to the Blue Devil Classic in Gurnee at 4 p.m. Saturday where they will play host Warren.

The Bottom Line: The teams stayed close in the first quarter as the Scouts took an 11-9 lead. In the second period, Lake Forest burst ahead of the Warriors on a 14-2 run to take a 25-11 lead into the intermission. Deerfield nipped away at the Scout bulge in the second half but could only narrow the gap by six points. The Warriors are now 5-8 for the season and are 3-2 in the Central Suburban League North Division.
