The Bottom Line: Deerfield battled back numerous times to whittle Lake Forest’s lead narrowing the gap to one point, 27-27, midway through the third quarter. With less than two minutes to play, Porter got the Warriors within five, 45-40, with a three point shot and brought the team back to a two-possession game with 22 seconds remaining. That is when he made three free throws after being fouled on a three point-attempt. Each time, Lake Forest responded by extending its edge.
