Andre Dawson Book Tour

Chicago Cubs’ great Andre Dawson has made a number of appearances in the area promoting his new book, If You Love This Game… An MVP’s Life in Baseball. The legendary outfielder appeared on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight on May 9. Dawson told Eddie Arruza his grandmother instilled Christianity and education in him.

“She always coached me about the importance of me getting down on my knees, being thankful of my blessings, even before I received them,” Dawson said. “And also the importance of education, where it was going to take me, how it was going to identify my life later on.”

An autographed baseball bat from Dawson is on display at the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame at in Des Plaines, the Chicago Tribune reported.
