Loverboy played the Des Plaines Theatre in Des Plaines, IL on Thursday, December 4th.

Canadian rock band Loverboy helped the historic Des Plaines Theatre celebrate its 100th birthday this year.

Following an appearance the previous night at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Loverboy made a stop in Des Plaines for a show on Thursday, December 4th, before the theatre’s 2025 season comes to an end.

The Des Plaines Theatre just celebrated its 100th birthday back in August. Its sister location, the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, IL, will turn 100 as well in September 2026.

The December date was originally supposed to take place in September alongside the other previously-scheduled Illinois show, but both dates were postponed in September due to unforeseen circumstances.

Thursday’s makeup show still proved an impressive turnout, and fans that held onto their tickets from the old date were considered “Lucky Ones” in store for an exciting evening.

Loverboy’s lineup consists of lead vocalist Mike Reno, guitarist Paul Dean, bassist Ken ‘Spider’ Sinnaeve, drummer Matt Frenette, and keyboardist Doug Johnson, who also plays the sax and harmonica.

Loverboy will return to Illinois for a show at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, IL with Lynyrd Skynyrd on August 15, 2026.
