Battery at Library, Stolen Car, More in Friday Blotter

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.
Battery
A patron sitting in the hallway of the first floor of the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 E. Ellinwood St., reported another patron told him to mind his own business and punched him in the mouth after he asked the man to stop shouting on his cell phone at 3:11 p.m. on Dec. 26, police stated. The man was described as 45-55 years old, 6-foot 2-inches tall, 200 pounds, with a medium build, medium brown complexion, brown eyes, wearing dark clothing. He left the library in an unknown direction, police stated.

A 2000 blue Honda Civic two-door coupe was reported stolen from a driveway on the 2100 block of S. Wolf Road sometime between 1 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 29, police stated.
Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, Possession of Alcohol by a Minor
Simon M. Muller, 20, address unknown, was issued citations for minor consumption of alcohol and minor possession of alcohol after police responded to a report of an unwanted and intoxicated subject at Walgreenβs, 1858 E. Oakton St., between 6:16 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. on Dec. 28, police stated.
Police made contact with Muller on the 1500 block of S. River Road, according to the report, he matched the description and said he was at Walgreenβs. Policed stated Mullerβs breath smelled like alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot and watery. Police found a 750-milliliter bottle of Graduate brand vodka in Mullerβs backpack, according to the report, and they transported him to the police station. Muller was given a court date of Jan. 23 at Skokie courthouse.
