Des Plaines Firefighter Hired; Police Detective Promoted

Christopher Jannusch was sworn in as a new firefighter and paramedic for the in a ceremony attended by family and friends on April 11, according to an announcement on Patch. Jannusch is currently completing a training course at the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy, or NIPSTA, in Glenview.

Dan Shanahan, a detective for the , was promoted to sergeant, and recognized in a ceremony attended by family and friends at City Hall recently. Shanahan has worked for the department since 1998.
