Des Plaines Officer Honored for Saving Man's Life

Des Plaines Police Officer Mike Schild received a Life Saving Award from Des Plaines Police Chief William Kushner, on behalf of the City of Des Plaines.

On Friday, July 12, 2013, Schild reported to the 2000 block of Estes Avenue regarding an unresponsive subject. Schild found a 65-year-old man in his bed with no pulse and not breathing. The officer initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until the Des Plaines Fire Department arrived on the scene and continued to administer life saving measures.
