FBI: Bank Robber Identified by Family, Co-workers

A man suspected by law enforcement of robbing banks in Des Plaines, Oak Brook and Buffalo Grove was taken into custody on Monday.

A , the FBI announced on Wednesday. Martin Crossley, 37, of Lombard, was arrested at a relative’s residence without incident in Lombard on Dec. 10, the FBI stated, following a meeting the agents had with one of Crossley’s relatives, who identified him as the bank robber in surveillance images from the banks.

Crossley was charged with one count of bank robbery, a felony, in connection with a bank robbery that occurred at First Merit Bank, 678 Lee St. in Des Plaines, on Nov. 30, the FBI stated. Crossley was not charged with robbing Fifth Third Bank, 1603 West 16th St. in Oak Brook on Nov. 29 and PNC Bank, 1177 Lake Cook Road in Buffalo Grove on Nov. 19, according to the FBI, but the complaint filed with the courts stated Crossley was identified by family members and former co-workers as the man in surveillance images from those robberies as well.
