Friday Blotter: Smashed Windows, Stolen Electronics and More

Criminal Damage to Property

Police responded to a burglar alarm at Klassic Tyre III, 1267 S. Elmhurst Road, at 2:06 a.m. on May 5. Policed stated, sometime between 2 a.m. and 2:02 a.m. on May 5, an unknown offender threw a landscaping brick through the window of the business. The hole was not large enough for someone to get through without cutting himself, and the rest of the building was secure. Property loss was estimated at $1,000.

Criminal Damage to Property

Police stated an unknown offender broke the front window of a residence in the 200 block of W. Anderson Terrace at 1:58 a.m. on May 6. Witnesses reported observing a white male subject, “skinny,” with red hair, riding a skateboard away from the scene at the time of the incident. Property loss was estimated at $1,000.

Burglary to Vehicle

Police reported a CD player, amplifier and iPod Touch were removed from a parked vehicle in the 1000 block of South East Grant Drive sometime between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. on May 6. Property loss was estimated at $650.

Burglary to Vehicle

Police stated a GPS device was removed from the windshield of a vehicle parked in the 2900 block of S. River Road sometime between 3:45 p.m. on May 4 and 11:30 a.m. on May 5. The offender smashed the driver’s side window to gain entry, according to the report. Property loss was estimated at $400.
