Maine West, Plainfield Elementary Locked Down, Police Take Suicidal Person into Custody
The situation was resolved quickly, and classes continued as usual.

requested and to be placed on soft lockdown this morning while they responded to a report of a suicidal subject just south of Maine West at about 8:24 a.m., said Sgt. Michael Holdman.
In a soft lockdown teachers are asked to keep their students in their classrooms, Holdman said. He said the situation was resolved without incident.
“The suicidal subject was quickly taken into custody without incident,” Holdman said.

Dave Beery, communications director for District 207, said the lockdown lasted about 15 minutes, and classes continued as usual, Journal & Topics Newspapers reported.
