Monday Blotter: Disorderly Conduct at the Casino, Stolen Tools, More

Battery, Disorderly Conduct

Police responded to an unwanted subject report at Rivers Casino at 4:11 a.m. on Feb. 26. According to the report, casino security observed Kenny Nmi Moyo, 22, of Wheeling, arguing with the bar manager because the casino had stopped serving liquor for the morning. During the altercation, according to the report, Moyo screamed and cursed at the bar manager.

When casino personnel asked Moyo to leave the casino, according to the report, Moyo responded by getting very close to the employee’s face and yelling. Moyo allegedly placed his open hands on the employee’s chest and screamed, according to the report, “You never get laid!”

Casino security took Moyo by the arms and walked him into the parking lot. During this time, an unknown man who was with Moyo at the bar left the casino and pulled up in front of Moyo in the parking lot, driving a Buick SUV. According to the report, casino security observed that the man was highly intoxicated.

According to the report, Moyo got into the passenger seat. Casino security personnel asked both men to exit the vehicle, and, according to the report, both refused.

Security removed Moyo from the vehicle, and, according to the report, while being pulled from the vehicle, Moyo attempted to close the vehicle door on the security agent’s arms.

Once outside the vehicle, according to the report, Moyo continued to use profanity and attempted to pull away from security while flailing his arms. Moyo was placed on the ground and handcuffed. The other man left the scene in the Buick SUV.

Police arrived shortly afterwards and, when the responding officer asked Moyo what happened, according to the report, Moyo said, “That [expletive] never gets laid!”

Moyo was charged with disorderly conduct and battery, and given a court date of March 22 at Skokie courthouse.

Burglary, Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Police were dispatched for a burglary report in the 100 bloc of E. Oakton Ave. at 9:04 a.m. on March 8. According to the report, sometime between 9 a.m. on March 2 and 9 a.m. on March 8 an unknown offender removed a table saw, two framing nailers, a screw gun and a power nailer were removed from a residence and a locked utility trailer. The property loss was estimated at $1,200.

Burglary to Vehicle, Criminal Damage to Vehicle

Police responded to a burglary report in the 1800 block of S. Elmhurst Road at 3:50 p.m. on March 10. According to the report, a car was discovered with four windows smashed, and a tire jack and loose coins were missing. A security guard told police, according to the report, that earlier in the week he chased a man he suspected was breaking into vehicles into a trailer park at 7500 S. Elmhurst road, where he lost sight of him.

Criminal Trespass to Property

Police responded to a trespassing report at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, at 3:22 a.m. on March 12. According to the report, Young Kim, of Chicago, was issued a citation for trespassing after attempting to enter the casino. Kim is on the self-exclusion list.

The Illinois Gaming Board began the Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program for Problem Gamblers in 2002, according to the Illinois Gaming Board’s website. It allows people who are problem gamblers to self-exclude themselves from Illinois casinos for a minimum of five years.
