• Burglars Steal ATM From Hotel Lobby: Des Plaines PD (patch.com) — Des Plaines police are investigating after burglars used a dolly and truck to remove an entire ATM from a hotel lobby on the 1500 block of East Touhy Avenue early Sunday morning. Surveillance video captured the crew entering, loading the machine, and exiting through the south entrance within about 20 minutes, and officers are now working to track down those responsible. 
• Man Driving Tesla Skids Into Jaguar, Say Police (journal-topics.com) — Des Plaines police say a local man driving a Tesla in self-drive mode on Wolf Road early Jan. 11 lost control and hit a parked Jaguar, then refused sobriety tests. Officers reported signs of alcohol use, took him into custody, and later charged him with misdemeanor DUI and traffic citations before releasing him with a court date.
