Photo of the Day: High School Students Treat Passers-by to a Taste of ‘1776’

If you were downtown near Lee Street shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, you might have heard an impromptu high school band performance. Students from , 8320 Ballard Road in Niles, stepped outside Leela Arts Center, 620 Lee Street, for a breath of fresh air and to practice a piece from the musical they will be performing there on Friday and Saturday, 1776 by Sherman Edwards.

Performances are at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The show is open to the public and tickets at the door are $5 for students and $10 for adults.
