The Des Plaines community gathered in Metropolitan Square Friday for the Holiday Lighting Ceremony. Local schools decorated trees with a theme of holiday songs.

Santa arrived on a and stayed to take pictures with kids.

Hot chocolate, popcorn and lots of other goodies were enjoyed.
