Thursday Blotter: Battery, Stolen Wallet at Casino, More

Battery

Jeronimo Roque Escamilla, age unknown, of Portland, Oregon, was charged with battery following an incident at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, at 10:25 p.m. on May 20. According to the report, casino personnel observed Escamilla appeared to be highly intoxicated and asked him to leave the casino. While helping Escamilla cash out his winnings, according to the report, be became agitated, cursed loudly, and pushed a casino employee backwards with an open hand. Escamilla was given a court date of June 25 at Skokie courthouse.

A wallet containing approximately $3,500 in cash was reported missing at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, at 12:43 a.m. on May 21. Police stated an unknown white male subject, approximately 150 pounds, 25 to 35 years old, wearing a white Polo T-shirt and jeans, was observed on video using his foot to slide the wallet from under a chair, then picked it up and walked away at 10:36 p.m. on May 21. Property loss was estimated at $3,850.

Obscene Conduct

After issuing two traffic citations to Maria Wantuch, 47, of Glenview, for traffic violations, police observed Wantuch pull into a nearby parking lot in the 500 block of E. Oakton Street and urinate on the ground. Wantuch was charged with obscene conduct and given a court date of July 3 at Skokie courthouse.
