The No. 1 story on Des Plaines Patch in 2011 was about Tammy Weart, 53, of Des Plaines, who was accused of stealing more than $1 million from her employer, Specialty Moving Systems, Inc. in Glenview. Weart pleaded guilty to two counts of theft and was sentenced to 11.5 years in prison, and must complete 50 percent of her sentence before becoming eligible for parole. , published June 24.
