Tuesday Blotter: X-ray Machine Missing at Nursing Home, More

Theft of Lost or Mislaid Property

A portable X-ray machine, estimated value $14,000, was reported missing at Alden Nursing Home, 1227 E. Golf Road, at 5:05 p.m. on May 16. According to the report, the machine was left at the nursing home at approximately 10:30 a.m. on May 16. When the owner of the machine realized he did not have the X-ray machine with him, he returned to Alden and discovered it was missing.

Residential Burglary

A laptop computer was reported missing from a residence in the 100 block of W. Dover Drive at 9:05 p.m. on May 14. Sometime between 7:15 a.m. and 8:40 p.m. on May 14 an unknown offender removed a Toshiba laptop computer from the apartment. Property loss was estimated at $600.

Trespass/Under 21 on Casino Property

Pengyan Liu, 20, of Flagstaff, AZ, was issued a citation for trespassing after attempting to enter Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, between 3:45 p.m. and 3:46 p.m. on May 16. Police stated Liu provided casino staff with the wrong date of birth, and was warned not to return to the casino.

Trespassing

Quoc Phung, 43, of Chicago, was issued a citation for trespassing after he entered Rivers Casino at 7:30 p.m. on May 15. Phung was on the self-exclusion list, police stated.

The Illinois Gaming Board began the Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program for Problem Gamblers in 2002, according to the Illinois Gaming Board’s website. It allows people who are problem gamblers to self-exclude themselves from Illinois casinos for a minimum of five years.

Gene O’Shea, Director of Self-Exclusion for the Illinois Gaming Board, individuals can petition to be removed from the list after five years, but no one has ever succeeded in this.
