Wednesday Blotter: Trespassing at Rivers Casino

Trespassing
Police were dispatched for a report of trespassing at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, on Dec. 18 at 4:11 p.m. According to the report, John Greco, 48, of Naperville, was being held by casino security after he was identified as listed on the self-exclusion list.

The Illinois Gaming Board began the Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program for Problem Gamblers in 2002, according to the Illinois Gaming Board’s website. It allows people who are problem gamblers to self-exclude themselves from Illinois casinos for a minimum of five years.
Greco was issued a citation for trespassing and escorted off casino property.

Criminal Trespassing
Police responded to a criminal trespassing report at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, on Dec. 18 at 2:52 a.m. According to the report, Simon Bradley, 31, of La Grange Highlands, was being held by casino security when police arrived.
An Illinois Gaming Board agent and casino security told police Bradley was arguing with a black jack dealer and pit boss manager because he wanted to split his aces, and the dealer would not let him. Bradley appeared highly intoxicated and was creating a disturbance by arguing with the employees, according to the report..
The pit boss manager finally told Bradley he could split his aces at the table to finish the game, but Bradley said he first wanted to receive an apology. Bradley was told he would not receive an apology, and to finish playing the game so he could be escorted out the casino, according to the repot. Bradley refused to play, and did not comply after being asked to leave the casino several times. He was handcuffed and escorted off the gaming floor.
Bradley was issued a citation for criminal trespassing, escorted out the casino, and got into a vehicle with his friend, the report said. Bradley kept stating he was going to complain to the media about the ticket he received.

Police were dispatched for a criminal trespassing report at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, on Dec. 18 at 12:57 a.m. According to the report, Gail Ranalli, 42, of Ingleside, was detained by casino security after she was identified as listed on the self-exclusion list.
Ranalli told police she signed up for the self-exclusion program 10 years ago, and thought she would be good to go in since it was so long ago. She was told she is not allowed in the casino, not to return, was issued a citation for criminal trespassing and escorted out the casino, according to the report.
Encouraging the Delinquency of a Minor/Gambling Prohibition – No One Under 21
Police responded to a report of a man under the age of 21 attempting to enter Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, on Dec. 16 at 1:37 p.m. According to the report, casino security personnel noticed the picture on the identification presented by Froilan Manilla, 20, of Chicago, did not match his face. The state identification card belonged to Manilla’s friend, Gail De Chavez, 24, of Chicago, and both men told security agents De Chavez gave his identification to Manilla so he could get into the casino to gamble.
Police said Manilla told them he just wanted to have a good time and gamble with his friend. He said he understood he was supposed to be 21 to gamble, but didn’t think he was going to get into trouble.
Manilla was issued a citation for gambling prohibition – no one under 21, for $250. De Chavez was issued a citation for encouraging the delinquency of a minor for $250. Both men were escorted out the casino and told they are no longer welcome.
