DES PLAINES, IL — A 38-year-old Wisconsin woman has been charged with theft after police said she stole $8,000 in casino chips from the Rivers Casino in early June.

Vanessa Walls is accused of stealing 16 $500 chips from a blackjack dealer's cache on June 12, police said. Authorities identified Walls through video and her player's card, which she had used earlier in the night.

An arrest warrant was issued on July 30 and Walls surrendered at the police station on Monday.
