2 Cars Broken Into At Patriots Park In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Two cars were burglarized while they were parked in the lot at Patriots Park, according to the village's crime blotter. Both incidents took place around the same time on Oct. 24.

A woman told police she parked her car around 2:30 p.m. and went to the playground. When she returned around 3:20 p.m., she noticed her black purse had been taken from the car. Police say the purse contained ID cards, debit and credit cards and $100 in cash.

Another visitor parked across from the woman reported having their car burglarized around 3:10 p.m. They told police someone shattered their window and stole their purse, which contained $40 in cash, along with credit and debit cards, a gift card and a Samsung phone.
