Blue Mass of Remembrance to Honor Sept. 11 First Responders

Local first responders will have a special place to sit Sept. 11 at a Blue Mass of Remembrance in Downers Grove.

The mass, which will honor the first responders who died on Sept. 11, 2001, will take place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Gostyn, 445 Prairie Ave., according to the village calendar.

Police, firefighters, sheriff’s deputies, emergency medical technicians and rescue workers, as well as the public, are invited to attend.

Readings and music will be led by St. Mary of Gostyn School students.
